Dinosaur Dig

If your 5 year olds are dinosaur fans, they’re going to love a dinosaur dig game! Set up a sandpit or fill a large container with sand, and bury some plastic dinosaurs or toy bones in the sand. You can even add some larger items, such as plastic buckets, shovels, and other beach toys to make the digging even more interesting. Once the “dinosaur fossils” have been buried, hand out the shovels and buckets and let the kids get digging. They’ll have a blast excavating the “fossils” and then playing with them afterwards.

Dinosaur Memory

Dinosaur memory is a fun twist on the classic game of memory. Make your own cards by drawing different dinosaurs on cardstock and then cutting them into pairs. Or, if you’re feeling extra crafty, you can print out some images of dinosaurs from the internet and cut them out as well. Place all the cards face down and have the kids take turns trying to find matching pairs. Whoever collects the most pairs wins!

Dinosaur Races

Dinosaur races are a great way to get the kids moving. Gather some dinosaurs of different sizes and have the kids line up. Give the kids each a dinosaur and have them race to the finish line. You can even make a course complete with obstacles (a la American Ninja Warrior). For an extra challenge, try having the kids race while balancing their dinosaurs on their heads!

Dinosaur Freeze Dance

Dinosaur Charades

Dinosaur Musical Chairs

Dinosaur musical chairs is a fun twist on the classic game of musical chairs. Have the kids circle around a few chairs and play some kid-friendly music. When the music stops, the kids have to race to find a chair and sit in it. Whoever is left without a chair is out. Keep playing until there is only one kid left!

Dinosaur Egg Hunt

This game is sure to be a hit with the kids! Hide some plastic dinosaur eggs around the room and have the kids try to find them. Whoever finds the most eggs wins! You can even have a prize for the winner, such as a small toy dinosaur.

Dinosaur Scavenger Hunt

Dinosaur scavenger hunts are a great way to keep the kids entertained. Make a list of items that can be found around the house, such as plastic dinosaurs, toy bones, or books about dinosaurs. Then, have the kids search for the items on the list. Whoever finds all the items first wins!

Dinosaur Coloring Pages

If you’re looking for a more low-key activity, dinosaur coloring pages are a great option. Print out some coloring pages of different dinosaurs and hand them out to the kids. They’ll have a blast coloring in the dinosaurs and showing off their artwork.
